Let’s kick off our first week of House Spotlights with House Beowulf and the Beowulf Vanguards! 🛡️✨ Over the next week, we’ll take a deeper look at their crest and how it represents each and every house member. The crest of House Beowulf is rich with symbolism, starting with the tilted, Nordic-inspired crown that honors the house's Scandinavian roots and features the rune of bravery, embodying one of its core values. 🏔️👑 At the heart of their brand is a star with an "S" in the center, representing rising role models and the service to others that defines great leadership. ⭐✨Tying it all together, the blue and gold shading not only reflects the school’s colors but also serves as a unifying symbol across all houses, emphasizing the strength of community. 💙💛 Stay tuned for more insights into Beowulf’s crest and values, and hear from a few of the house members themselves! 🐾 #HouseBeowulf #PantherPride #HouseSpotlight #SixHousesOneClaw #PantherClaw

During today’s Panther Claw, our 3rd and 4th graders joined in because one brave 3rd grader wanted to give a high schooler a shoutout! 🐾✨ How amazing is it to see our older Panthers showing so much care for our Panther Cubs? This right here is what it truly means to be part of the Panther Claw family! 💙👏 #PantherPride #PantherClaw #StrongerTogether #PantherFamily

We are partnering with the Center for a Vital Community at Sheridan College to host Study Circles focused on middle schoolers. Middle school has always been hard for biological and social reasons – now it’s harder than ever due to changes in technology. Everyone is invited to take part in Study Circles. Whether you’ve had a middle schooler, there’s one in your future, you work with them, they frequent your business, or you’re just interested in learning more about how you can help, join a Circle! Our kickoff will be here at the school on January 21. Study Circles will be held at a variety of times and days throughout Sheridan County for the convenience of participants.  8 to 12 people will be in each Circle  All ages are welcome to join a community Circle  Groups will meet for five two-hour sessions  Recognizing that most students don't have two hours available, we will be hosting a Circle here at school during the school day  Two facilitators will lead each group  Study Circles run from January 27 to March 7  A full schedule is available at sheridancvc.org, and you don’t need to sign up in advance to attend. After the five weeks of Circles, we bring the best ideas forward to put it all together at the Action Forum on March 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hub on Smith’s Community Room. Study Circles is not talking to talk. Real change happens when our community comes together around a subject they care about. Past Study Circles include conversations about mental health, poverty, and creating a dementia-friendly community. They all created initiatives that are still going strong and making significant impacts here in Sheridan County. I encourage you to participate in Study Circles and be a part of creating solutions! Come to our kickoff on January 21 and learn more.
