Thank you, Mr. Rohrer, for bringing our literature to life! He graciously made jambalaya, fried okra, collard greens, and beignets for a mid-morning snack! We read all about this delicious food, and today, we tasted it! #180Daysof Joy

Big time congratulations are in order for Miss Teegan Olsen as she was voted as our #SourcesOfStrength K-6 student of the month for the month of April! Here is what Teegan's nominating teacher had to say: Teegan is an outstanding student that always does things the Panther way. Just a few examples of her doing things the Panther way include but are not limited to: 1. Standing up for others. 2. Always telling the truth. 3. Always gives it her 100% These also happen to be traits included in the Eight Keys of Excellence. That is what Teegan is, excellent. Congrats, Teegan! Well deserved!

We have our first ever Co-Students of the month! Not only due to being tied in votes, but because they are both very deserving. Congratulations to Trevor Martinez and Tessa Christianson for being named as students of the month for the month of April! Here is what their nominating teachers had to say: Trevor: Trevor is respectful and considerate of others, but he is also able to call students out for inappropriate or disrespectful behavior. He is a leader among the students and sets a great example for others to follow. Tessa: Tessa may not always get her work turned in on time, but she always ends up getting it turned in in the long run. Looking forward, Tessa is carefully planning for her future and making sure to get the most out of her classes next year by signing up for multiple college-level courses. I have also witnessed a massive amount of drive and grit from her. Not every day, as we all have off days, but on her good days (which is the majority of days) she is the hardest worker in the room. It is near impossible to beat this kid when she puts her nose to the grindstone.

Nathan Carvalho is in the Panther Spotlight! Nathan is an intelligent, talented, and independent student who is helping to raise the bar for his classmates. Nathan has made a place in the 5th grade this year! Even though he came later, he jumped in and did his best to learn what he had missed and become part of the classroom culture. He is willing to work on what he needs and give his all. In the few weeks that I have gotten to get to know Nate I've noticed that he really shines in sports and you can tell that that is a passion for him. I look forward to getting to know more about Nate.

Colter Pehringer is in the Panther Spotlight! Colter is a dependable, intelligent, talented and witty student who has demonstrated exceptional growth this year. Colter is a friend when needed. He is encouraging and helpful to his classmates. He knows who he is and isn't afraid to show it! He works hard and is ready to take on any challenge. Colter is such a kind soul, but don't be fooled! He is a beast on the soccer field. Colter is someone you can count on and someone I trust with any of our littles. I am so glad he is a Panther! Way to go Colter! Colter is very helpful, kind, and driven as a student. He is willing to take on any task set before him. He is meticulous and knowledgeable during class and his willingness to share his ideas is contagious. Keep up the good work, Colter!!

Kara Graham is in the Panther Spotlight! Kara is always ready to learn and is eager to advocate for her own learning. Kara engages in my class and is a great addition to our school. She works hard to understand and participates with her peers. I have enjoyed getting to know her and like how she has adapted to our school. Good job Kara! Kara's constant energy assists our classroom environment positively. She doesn't shirk from asking questions, which proves her mind is conducting the true learning. Kara's curiosity and questioning nature make our classroom that much more successful! Kara has been a wonderful addition to the AC family out here. She has such a positive attitude and the 8th grade class is so lucky to have her. It can be challenging to join a group in the middle of the year, and Kara has taken it all in stride! I have enjoyed getting to know her better. She is a great addition and we cannot wait to see what she accomplishes as a Panther!
