Jorgen Michelena is in the Panther Spotlight! Jorgen always livens up our discussions with his creative ideas! Jorgen is calm, cool, and collected never letting anything rattle him and at the same time, he uses those same characteristics to challenge others and their thinking. Jorgen is friendly and always says hi. He is learning to be a leader and helps out when asked. He has great ideas and I enjoy having him in class. Good job Jorgen! Jorgen always brings interesting perspectives in class that help promote good discussions. Jorgen has such a great sense of humor. He always makes me laugh! I definitely miss seeing him every day. Jorgen's witty comments make our classroom that much livelier. When reading any material, he has a knack for relating the central claims and themes back to our real world. Also, he showcases his opinions strongly!

Through the power of Artificial Intelligence, the 5th graders had a conversation with Amelia Earhart. They discussed topics about adventure, courage, and perseverance. A few students even asked about her mysterious disappearance. #180DaysofJoy

Mrs. Auzqui is in the Panther Spotlight! Mrs. Auzqui is a hard working, dedicated Panther. She has embraced change this year, moving out of a role as a leader of the curriculum work in the district and into one teaching third grade ELA and second grade math! She provides a smile at every turn and has been a leader at A-C! A past member of DSC, Mrs. Auzqui was instrumental in our achieving the high marks we did in our accreditation visit. While still leading behind the scenes, she is choosing now to focus on her students and put all of her effort into the classroom, and our students are the better for it. Mrs. Auzqui is truly committed to advancing the Panther Way!

Our K-6 student of the month of December, voted on by ACHS #SourcesOfStrength is 6th grader Raimee Jordan! Here is why Raimee was nominated for the award: "Raimee has been a wonderful addition to the AC community! Every day she comes to school, works hard, loves learning, and encourages her classmates to be their best. She is kind and an expert 4-square player :) Her enthusiasm, integrity, and dedication make her a deserving student for this recognition." Congratulations, Raimee!

ACHS #SourcesOfStrength would like to congratulate the December 7-12 student of the month, Abbie Odegard! Here is what teachers had to say when nominating Abbie: "Abbie has always demonstrated her skills to the utmost level during class. she puts in the extra effort to make sure that all of her work is done on time. She always asks for clarification when she doesn't understand particular parts of what is being taught. She does a great job of interjecting good humor into the class. She has done an amazing job this last month." "Abbie has been put in a different role than normal this last month. This could have been hard on her and she could have taken a negative attitude toward the situation, but instead, she thrived. When adversity was thrown at her, she took it in stride and found the best in the situation, becoming a major leader of the student population. Abbie is through and through a panther leader and is above and beyond the student of the month in my eyes."

We keep improving so our kids can keep improving. Thanks to our great partnership with #SheridanCollege and the handy work of Better Body Fitness in Billings, we were yet again able to update the weight room with a new dumbbell rack and a new ADX fan bike. All of here at ACHS sure appreciate it! #180DaysOfJoy

Found joy in simplicity today. The kinders/pre-k's somehow talked me into taking a break from our kicking unit to build this massive speedstack tower that took the entire period. Hard to say no when you see the happiness on those faces! #180DaysOfJoy #shr3pantherpride Guest post by Mr. Spade

Mr. Broersma is in the Panther Spotlight! Mr. B has taken an active leadership role in the school/district this year. He has led in our adoption of Wit & Wisdom, as well as our pilot of Eureka^2. He is a member of the district steering committee. He has taken on many of the duties of being technology director as well. Mr. Broersma is participating in Level Up, a group of teachers of the year for Wyoming, and learning how to better advocate for our students, among other important efforts. He started a master's program this fall. In addition to all this - he is still a great teacher in the classroom and a father to more than any of us can count!

Tessa Christianson is in the Panther Spotlight! I love how Tessa fearlessly stands up for her friends and what she believes in! When it comes to Strength and Conditioning, Tessa is one of the strongest kids we have in this school. Her work ethic is unmatchable when she wants it to be and she seems to get lucky in ALMOST every conditioning workout and beat Mr. Spade somehow... Confidently, Tessa never shirks from stating her opinion in class. Her ability to relate concepts to our world today makes our discussions grounded and purposeful. Also, her recent directions, insights, and participation in the February Dodgeball Tournament has many eager to attend. Thanks for being a leader within our school!

Tanner Doyle is in the Panther Spotlight! Tanner has shown amazing grit and determination to learn in my classroom. He is a joy to teach! Tanner is friendly and always says Hi in the hallways. He has great ideas and works hard to participate in class. I have seen lots of growth! Good job Tanner! The students love how he makes them laugh and how much of a friend he has become! The younger students look up to him and he has been working hard in class! Tanner attacks life full force and wants to be part of the action. He is extremely social which is shown through class discussion and conversations he has with his teachers. When he is absent, our class has lower energy. Tanner brings the gusto! Tanner has such a kind heart. He always says hi to me in the halls and asks me how my day is or how I'm doing. I love our talks together. Tanner has a willingness even on difficult tasks. He is a respectful young man, who will always make sure to say hello and ask about your day! Tanner is nothing but respectful when I see him in the halls. He always asks me how my day is going, and I appreciate his maturity as a fifth grader. He is a rockstar!
